Sanitation Tech
Requirements
Experience in sanitation, preferably in a dietary supplement, food, or manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of GMPs and sanitation practices.
Knowledge of CFR 111/117 is preferred.
Knowledge of HACCP and HARPC is a plus.
Familiarity with environmental monitoring programs, ATP testing, allergen testing, and sanitation verification processes is preferred.
Familiarity with chemical control programs and safety procedures.
Strong communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates are required.
Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Duties and Responsibilities
Sanitation Operations
Monitor sanitation activities within production and non-production areas to ensure proper cleaning and sanitization procedures are being followed.
Work closely with Production and Housekeeping teams to ensure sanitation tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
Conduct inspections to verify cleanliness and compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
Assist with corrective actions when sanitation verification swab failures occur.
Monitor sanitation swab inventory levels and notify the Sanitation Manager when additional supplies are needed.
Environmental Monitoring Program (EMP)
Assist in implementing and maintaining the Environmental Monitoring Program (EMP).
Ensure critical areas and hygienic zones throughout the facility are swabbed according to established procedures for microbial contamination monitoring.
Assist with environmental sampling activities and documentation.
Support corrective actions and follow-up activities when environmental monitoring results indicate elevated microbial levels.
Machine/Scale/Sensor Calibration Management
Monitor the calibration status of all calibrated devices throughout the facility.
Notify the Sanitation Manager when calibrations are approaching their due dates and assist with preparation and coordination of calibration activities.
Track the condition of scales and sensors and ensure that non-functional equipment is repaired or replaced in a timely manner.
Job Summary
The Sanitation Technician will assist with sanitation activities throughout the facility, support the Environmental Monitoring Program (EMP), monitor sanitation processes, perform inspections, assist with investigations and corrective actions, manage sanitation-related documentation, and help ensure compliance with sanitation and food safety requirements.
